Sexuality: Bi. Zack... is nice to everyone. ^_^ He'll start hitting on inanimate objects if you get him drunk enough.

Appearance: He's only somewhat taller than average, but his body is all wiry muscle that lends him impressive strength and agility, and he somehow manages to make even the not-exactly-fashionable SOLDIER uniform look good, suspenders and all. The mess of spiky black hair that falls past his shoulders is undoubtedly his most noticeable feature, and has been know to swallow combs whole never to be seen again. He's fair-skinned without being pale, while his eyes are a faintly glowing violet. He has plenty of scars from his years in SOLDIER and subsequently as a specimen, though the only noticeable one is a faint line on his jaw.

Personality: Zack is energetic verging on hyperactive, and hugely extroverted. He really, really likes people, and he loves talking. About himself, quite frequently, or any other topic that catches his fancy. More than anything, though, he's just a really nice guy, and will resolutely attempt to brighten the life anyone who he's convinced needs cheering up. He has an almost instinctive tendency to protect anyone weaker than he is, and a more than a bit of a self-sacrificing streak. Zack has the ability to remain preturnaturally lighthearted and optimistic in even the worst situations, and seems to be physically incapable of angsting for any length of time. Which doesn't mean he can't be serious when he needs to be; he just doesn't see the point most of the time. In his not-exactly-humble opinion, people who sit around brooding need a good whack upside the head, and he'll be glad to be the one to give it to them.

Abilties/Weaponry: In spite of his frequently immature actions, he's extremely competent when it comes to either bladed weapons or hand-to-hand combat.His weapon of choice is his oversized Buster Sword. (oversized sword...*snerk*)

Weaknesses: While his pride in his talents is undoubtedly justified, his cocky attitude can easily slip over into excessive self-confidence. Zack is obviously ungodly annoying when he's bothering anyone who just wants to be left alone, damnit, and his eternally upbeat attitude can start to grate after a while. There comes a point at which overwhelming cheerfulness in the face of gloom 'n doom stops being comforting and starts being even more depressing. And if someone's his friend, he really wants to think the best of them; he likes to believe that almost everyone has at least some good inside them, and there are times when this can make him overlook minor flaws, such as, oh, upcoming psychotic episodes.

History: Zack left his loving but rather provincial parents and his epically boring hometown of Gongaga behind when he was fifteen or thereabouts, and set off to the big city of Midgar to join the army, become famous, and make something interesting happen in his life. He was quickly accepted into Shinra's SOLDIER program, and worked his way up the ranks with suprising speed, making First Class in near-record time. But when things were looking brightest for him - he was friends with the ever-so-badass and awesome General Sephiroth, found a girlfriend with a personality as, uh, quirky as his own, and acquired an endearingly underconfident soldier-fanboy - the force of doom better known as the Plot intervened. A routine mission gone horribly wrong landed him and Cloud as experimental specimens for the mad scientist Hojo, and it was five years before Zack successfully escaped from the lab in Nibelheim, taking his friend with him. The two set out for Midgar - or rather, Zack set out for Midgar while lugging the mostly catatonic Cloud along, gabbing away about his plans for the future. It wasn't to be, of course - Shinra forces caught up to them a few miles outside the city, and Zack was shot to death. Except in this case, he didn't exactly end up where he expected to be...
